Targets CD20 antigen on the surface of B-cells, leading to cell destruction through mechanisms like antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity, complement-dependent cytotoxicity, and apoptosis. Investigated for autoimmune diseases including rheumatoid arthritis and immune thrombocytopenia due to its ability to deplete abnormal B-cells. Also serves as a reference standard in biosimilar development and immunoassay calibration.
