description Product Description
Used as a biological stain in microscopy to identify lipids and lipoproteins in tissues, staining neutral fats blue and fatty acids red. It helps in distinguishing between neutral fats and fatty acids. Also employed in histology for staining mitochondria and other cellular components. Applied in fluorescence microscopy due to its ability to emit bright red fluorescence under specific conditions. Utilized in research to study cell membranes and lipid distribution. Sometimes used in diagnostic procedures to detect certain types of cancers by highlighting abnormal lipid accumulation. Additionally, serves as a pH indicator in alkaline conditions and is used in spectroscopic analysis to study optical properties of substances.
