description Product Description
Sedaxane is primarily used as a fungicide in agriculture, especially in the protection of cereal crops such as wheat, barley, and oats. It is effective against a range of soil-borne and seed-borne fungal pathogens, including Rhizoctonia solani and Tilletia species, which cause diseases like damping-off, root rot, and bunt.
It is commonly applied as a seed treatment, forming a protective barrier around the seed and young roots during early growth stages. This helps improve crop establishment and yield by preventing fungal infections in critical early development phases.
Sedaxane works by inhibiting fungal respiration through the inhibition of succinate dehydrogenase (SDHI), disrupting energy production in the pathogen. Its systemic activity allows it to be absorbed and distributed within the plant, providing internal protection.
Due to its targeted mode of action and low application rates, sedaxane is often combined with other fungicides in seed treatment formulations to broaden the spectrum of control and reduce the risk of resistance development.
