description Product Description

Used primarily to treat and prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs) caused by susceptible strains of bacteria. It works by interfering with bacterial enzymes involved in energy production and DNA synthesis, effectively killing the bacteria or stopping their growth. Commonly prescribed for acute uncomplicated UTIs in women and for long-term prophylaxis in individuals with recurrent infections. It is not effective for systemic infections or pyelonephritis due to low tissue penetration and rapid clearance. Often favored for its low resistance development compared to other antibiotics. Typically administered orally in tablet or suspension form, with treatment courses usually lasting 5 to 7 days.
