Alpha arbutin is synthesized using a biosynthetic method. It works to brighten and even out skin tone. It is suitable for all skin types. It is safe and has no side effects like hydroquinone. It is more effective.

Alpha-arbutin is a biosynthetic substance that is water-soluble and works to brighten and even out skin tone. It is suitable for all skin types and is safe and has no side effects like hydroquinone. It is more effective, but is not widely used due to its much higher price. Alpha-arbutin can reduce melanin production in skin cells by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase, which converts tyrosine and dopa into melanin.
The formula should be formulated with ActiveProtec™ OX at 0.6% to help prevent discoloration of the formula.
The company sells 3 types of Alpha Arbutin.
1. Alpha Arbutin Switzerland grade (produced by DSM Switzerland, the inventor of Alpha Arbutin. From actual testing in the formula, it was found to be more stable than that of other countries in some formulas)
2. Alpha Arbutin, China grade (Enzymatic Synthesis type, with a process similar to that of the Switzerland manufacturer)
3. Crystal grade Alpha Arbutin (It has a crystalline powder form to confirm that it is genuine Alpha Arbutin, not Beta Arbutin, which is less effective and much cheaper.)
Usage: For whitening products to brighten the skin, available in gel, serum, lotion, or cream form (recommended for continuous use for at least 8 weeks, results vary from person to person).
Mixing method: Mix in the final step. The temperature of the cosmetic must be below 30 °C and have a pH between 3.5-6.5. Do not mix in formulas with a pH higher than 8, as Alpha Arbutin will break down into hydroquinone, which is a dangerous substance.
Usage rate: 0.2-2% (Recommended 2% for whitening to brighten the skin. Do not use more than 2.00%. Please read the description here. )

Research has shown that comparing the effectiveness of Alpha-Arbutin with other whitening agents has shown that Alpha-Arbutin is the most effective (please see the brochure for more details on this research).
