Used as a chiral catalyst in asymmetric synthesis, particularly in enantioselective C–H functionalization reactions. It enables high enantioselectivity in the insertion of carbenoids into C–H bonds, especially in the transformation of prochiral methylene groups into chiral centers. Commonly applied in the synthesis of complex organic molecules such as pharmaceuticals and natural products where stereochemical control is critical. Its bulky sulfonamide ligands enhance stereoselectivity and stabilize the dirhodium core during catalysis.
