description Product Description

Evacetrapib is a cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) inhibitor developed to improve cardiovascular outcomes by increasing high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol and reducing low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. It was investigated for the treatment of atherosclerosis and other cardiovascular diseases associated with dyslipidemia. The compound showed potential in clinical trials to significantly alter lipid profiles, aiming to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes. However, despite promising early results, development was discontinued after phase III trials failed to demonstrate a reduction in major cardiovascular events, raising questions about the clinical benefits of CETP inhibition as a therapeutic strategy.
