Used primarily in the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ ALL), especially in patients resistant to prior tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapies. It functions as a potent inhibitor of BCR-ABL, including mutant forms such as T315I, which are commonly associated with drug resistance. Its ability to target multiple conformational states of the kinase makes it effective against a broad spectrum of resistant strains. Currently under investigation in clinical trials to evaluate its efficacy, safety, and potential use in combination therapies for hematologic malignancies.
