Used in the treatment of severe eosinophilic asthma to reduce the frequency of asthma exacerbations and the need for oral corticosteroids. It is also indicated for eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA), a rare autoimmune disease involving blood vessel inflammation. Additionally, it is prescribed for hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES) to control symptoms and reduce reliance on long-term steroid therapy. By targeting and neutralizing interleukin-5, it reduces eosinophil levels in the blood and tissues, thereby decreasing inflammation and tissue damage associated with eosinophil-driven diseases.
