Used in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for gas storage and separation due to its multiple tetrazole groups that can coordinate with metal ions. Also applied in catalysis, where the porphyrin core acts as a catalyst support, especially in oxidation reactions. Shows potential in photodynamic therapy as a photosensitizer because of its ability to generate reactive oxygen species under light irradiation. Investigated for use in biosensors and molecular imaging thanks to its strong optical properties and metal-binding capability.
