It functions as an immune checkpoint modulator by blocking the BTLA (B- and T-lymphocyte attenuator) pathway, thereby enhancing T-cell activation and anti-tumor immune responses. Currently being evaluated in combination with other immunotherapies to improve efficacy in patients with advanced cancers.
