description Product Description
Lithopone is widely used as a white pigment in various industrial and commercial applications. It is commonly found in paints and coatings, where it provides excellent opacity and brightness at a lower cost compared to titanium dioxide. Due to its good dispersion properties and chemical stability, it is especially suitable for use in water-based and oil-based paints.
It is also used in the production of plastics, where it imparts a uniform white color and improves the material’s resistance to weathering. In the printing ink industry, lithopone offers good hiding power and compatibility with different resin systems, making it ideal for both sheet-fed and web offset inks.
Additionally, lithopone finds application in rubber products, helping to extend the material and maintain whiteness after vulcanization. It is also used in the paper industry to enhance whiteness and opacity. Furthermore, it is applied in certain decorative laminates, putties, and adhesives where high opacity and moderate durability are required. Its non-toxic nature allows limited use in some consumer products, though it is not typically used in food or pharmaceutical applications.
