description Product Description
Used as an oxidizing agent in organic synthesis, particularly in allylic oxidation reactions to convert alkenes to α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds. Commonly employed in the production of selenium-containing pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Acts as a catalyst or reagent in the synthesis of dyes and pigments. Utilized in the glass industry to decolorize glass or impart a ruby-red color when combined with other metal oxides. Applied in electroplating processes to improve finish and durability of metal surfaces. Also used in some hair tonics and antidandruff shampoos due to its antifungal properties, though this application is limited due to toxicity concerns.
