Pseudomonas Isolation Agar
blur_circular Chemical Specifications
description Product Description
Used in microbiology to isolate and cultivate Pseudomonas species, particularly Pseudomonas aeruginosa, from clinical, environmental, and pharmaceutical samples. It supports the growth of Pseudomonas while inhibiting gram-positive bacteria and many other gram-negative organisms. The selective agents in the medium, such as antibiotics or dyes, suppress unwanted microbes. Pseudomonas colonies are often identifiable by their characteristic pigmentation—producing green, yellow, or blue-green diffusible pigments (pyocyanin and fluorescein). This makes the medium useful in clinical diagnostics, water testing, and quality control in pharmaceuticals where detection of Pseudomonas contamination is critical.
