description Product Description

Used as a drying agent due to its strong hygroscopic nature, effectively removing moisture from gases and organic liquids. Commonly employed in refrigeration systems as a secondary refrigerant fluid because of its high solubility and low freezing point when in solution. Utilized in concrete acceleration, reducing setting time and improving early strength development in cold weather. Applied on roads and sidewalks for dust control and ice melting, especially in winter maintenance, due to its ability to depress the freezing point of water and generate heat upon dissolution. Also used in food processing as a firming agent for canned vegetables and in sports drinks to replenish electrolytes. In oil and gas operations, added to drilling fluids to prevent clay swelling. Its high solubility and ionic strength make it useful in wastewater treatment and industrial processes requiring calcium ion addition.
