description Product Description

Used as a corrosion-inhibiting pigment in coatings, especially in primers for metals like steel and aluminum in aerospace and automotive industries. Provides passivation by forming a protective layer that prevents oxidation. Also employed in the formulation of anti-rust paints and in pyrotechnics as an oxidizing agent to produce green-colored flames. Additionally, found in some types of welding rod coatings to stabilize the arc and improve weld quality.

Serves as an additive in specialty coatings such as epoxy or alkyd to enhance resistance to water and chemicals.

Due to the presence of chromate, which is toxic and carcinogenic, its use is restricted in some countries, and safer alternatives are being developed.
