description Product Description

Widely used in agriculture as a fungicide and pesticide, especially in vineyards and farms to control fungal diseases like mildew and blight. It is a key component of Bordeaux mixture, a traditional spray for protecting crops. In addition, it serves in root pruning and as a nutrient supplement in soils deficient in copper, supporting healthy plant growth. Commonly applied in industrial settings for electroplating and metal finishing processes, where it provides a source of copper ions for depositing uniform metal coatings. It is also used in mining to extract copper from ores through solvent extraction and electrowinning methods. In water treatment, it helps control algae growth in reservoirs, ponds, and swimming pools due to its algicidal properties. However, its use is regulated to avoid toxicity to aquatic life. Used in educational and research laboratories for crystal growth experiments, chemical demonstrations, and as a reagent in qualitative inorganic analysis. It also finds use in the preparation of other copper compounds and in school-level chemistry experiments to illustrate concepts like hydration and dehydration. Employed in the textile industry for dyeing processes, acting as a mordant to fix dyes on fabrics. Additionally, it has limited use in the preservation of wood and in some antifouling paints.
