Used as an antiseptic in mouthwashes and throat lozenges to reduce bacteria in the oral cavity. Commonly added to toothpastes for its ability to fight plaque and bad breath. Also found in nasal sprays and sanitizing products for its antimicrobial properties. Used in some eye drops as a preservative. Applied in cosmetic formulations to prevent microbial growth. Occasionally used in household disinfectants and surface cleaners.
