Used primarily as a semiconductor material in organic electronics, particularly in thin-film transistors (OTFTs). Its extended aromatic structure provides good charge carrier mobility, making it suitable for flexible displays and low-cost electronic devices. Also investigated for use in photovoltaic cells due to its light absorption properties in the visible spectrum. Its stability and planarity support strong π-π stacking, enhancing performance in solid-state devices.
