Used as a photoredox catalyst in organic synthesis, enabling light-driven reactions such as C–H functionalization and cross-coupling under mild conditions. Its strong oxidizing power in the excited state makes it effective for electron transfer processes, particularly in the activation of inert substrates. Also applied in mechanistic studies to probe electron transfer pathways due to its long-lived excited state and high photostability. Suitable for reactions requiring high redox potential and selectivity under visible light irradiation.
