Used as a photoinitiator in UV-curable systems such as inks, coatings, and adhesives. It absorbs ultraviolet to visible light and generates free radicals that initiate polymerization of acrylates and methacrylates. Commonly found in dental composites and 3D printing resins due to its efficiency in visible light curing. Also employed in holographic imaging and photopolymer plates because of its high sensitivity and low yellowing after cure.
