Used as a photoinitiator in UV-curable formulations such as coatings, inks, and adhesives. It absorbs ultraviolet light and generates free radicals that initiate polymerization of acrylate and methacrylate monomers. Offers good thermal stability and efficiency in thin films. Commonly found in clear coatings and printing inks where low yellowing and fast curing are required. Also used in some dental composites and 3D printing resins due to its reactivity under UV exposure.
