Used as a ligand in transition metal catalysis, particularly in palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions. Enhances catalyst stability and activity in carbon–carbon bond-forming reactions such as Suzuki–Miyaura and Heck couplings. Effective in reactions requiring high thermal stability and strong electron-donating phosphine ligands. Also applied in homogeneous catalysis where selective and efficient transformation of aryl halides is needed.
