Used as a tackifier in adhesives, providing excellent stickiness and flexibility, especially in pressure-sensitive tapes and labels. Commonly added to sealants and caulks to improve water resistance and durability. Employed in chewing gum base for its elasticity and insolubility. Used in fuel and oil additives to control deposits and improve performance. Also found in lubricants and in some pharmaceuticals as a sustained-release agent.
