Used in chemotherapy to treat various cancers including breast, prostate, and lung cancer. Works by interfering with cell division, slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells. Often used when other treatments have failed. Can be administered alone or in combination with other anticancer drugs. Also used in coated stents to prevent scar tissue formation after angioplasty.
