Used primarily as an antibiotic to treat bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and skin infections. Effective against a range of Gram-positive and some Gram-negative bacteria. Often prescribed for mild to moderate infections in adults and children. Administered orally in the form of capsules or liquid suspension. Known for good absorption and relatively low incidence of side effects compared to other antibiotics in its class.
