description Product Description

Tiamulin is primarily used in veterinary medicine, especially in swine and poultry production, to treat and control bacterial infections caused by pathogens such as *Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae*, *Brachyspira hyodysenteriae*, and other susceptible organisms. It is highly effective against respiratory and intestinal diseases, including swine dysentery and enzootic pneumonia in pigs, as well as chronic respiratory disease in chickens. The compound is often administered through feed or drinking water, making it practical for mass treatment and prevention in large herds or flocks. Due to its mode of action—binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit—it shows strong inhibitory effects on protein synthesis in target bacteria, particularly anaerobes and certain Gram-positive bacteria. Tiamulin is also used in combination with other antimicrobials, such as lincomycin, to broaden the spectrum of activity and improve efficacy in controlling polymicrobial infections. Its use is generally restricted to animals, and it plays a key role in maintaining animal health and productivity in intensive farming systems.
