Used primarily in the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension), heart failure, and certain types of chronic chest pain (angina). It works by relaxing blood vessels and slowing heart rate, which improves blood flow and decreases the workload on the heart. Also prescribed after a heart attack to improve survival chances, especially in patients with heart muscle damage. Its dual action as both a beta-blocker and vasodilator makes it effective in managing multiple cardiovascular conditions.
