Used in stem cell mobilization to treat cancer patients, particularly those with lymphoma or multiple myeloma. Helps move blood stem cells from the bone marrow into the bloodstream so they can be collected for autologous stem cell transplantation. Often given with granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) to enhance stem cell release. Important for patients who did not respond adequately to G-CSF alone, improving the success of stem cell collection and enabling faster recovery after high-dose chemotherapy.
