Used primarily as a high-energy plasticizer in solid rocket propellants and explosive formulations. It enhances mechanical properties and energy output while maintaining low volatility and good thermal stability. Commonly found in composite propellants where improved performance and reduced sensitivity are required. Also investigated for use in gas generators and pyrotechnic devices due to its favorable combustion characteristics.
