It is effective in managing conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gastritis, peptic ulcers, and gastrointestinal spasms. By relaxing smooth muscles in the digestive tract, it reduces abdominal pain, cramping, motility, and acid secretion, providing relief from symptoms like diarrhea and discomfort.

Additionally, it may be used for urinary tract spasms and post-surgical gastrointestinal pain control.

Note: It is not typically used in ophthalmology for conditions like uveitis, as its quaternary structure limits topical or systemic effects on ocular muscles.
