By blocking PCSK9, this antibody increases LDL receptor recycling, leading to significantly lower LDL cholesterol levels. Administered via subcutaneous injection, it is often prescribed alongside statins or for patients who cannot tolerate statin therapy. Its use has been shown to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and coronary revascularization in high-risk patients.
