Used in cancer research and diagnostics for targeting tumor-associated macrophages, particularly in solid tumors such as breast, colorectal, and pancreatic cancers. Binds specifically to the MRC2 (mannose receptor C-type 2) protein, which is overexpressed on the surface of tumor-promoting macrophages, enabling detection, isolation, and imaging of these cells in tissue samples. Supports immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and in vivo imaging applications. Investigated for use in antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and targeted therapy delivery due to its internalizing properties upon binding. Also applied in studies of tissue remodeling and fibrosis where MRC2-expressing cells play a role.
