Used for the preventive treatment of migraine in adults. It targets and blocks calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), a molecule involved in migraine pathways, reducing the frequency and severity of migraine attacks. Administered by subcutaneous injection monthly or quarterly. Effective for both episodic and chronic migraine, including patients who have not responded to other therapies. Also under investigation for other pain disorders involving CGRP signaling.
