Targets and inhibits angiopoietin-2 (ANGPT2), a key mediator in vascular instability and inflammation. By blocking ANGPT2, it helps reduce vascular leakage, suppress choroidal neovascularization, and maintain blood-retinal barrier integrity. Often explored in combination with anti-VEGF therapies to enhance efficacy in patients with incomplete response to VEGF inhibition alone. Investigated in diabetic macular edema and retinal vein occlusion due to its role in vascular homeostasis. Administered via intravitreal injection in clinical settings.
