Used in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, this antibody targets aggregated forms of amyloid-beta, including soluble oligomers and insoluble plaques in the brain. By selectively binding to these pathological aggregates, it promotes their clearance through microglial-mediated phagocytosis. This reduces amyloid plaque burden, a hallmark of Alzheimer’s pathology, and may slow cognitive decline in early-stage patients. It is administered intravenously and is intended for individuals with mild cognitive impairment or mild dementia stage of Alzheimer’s disease confirmed by amyloid imaging or cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers.
