Used in targeted cancer therapy, particularly for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with c-Met overexpression or amplification. Binds selectively to the c-Met receptor, inhibiting hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)-mediated signaling, which suppresses tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis. Investigated in clinical trials as a monotherapy and in combination with other agents to improve response rates in patients with c-Met-driven tumors. Also serves as a reference standard in immunoassay development and antibody comparability studies.
