Used in cancer immunotherapy to block the CD47 "don't eat me" signal on tumor cells, enabling macrophages and other immune cells to recognize and destroy cancer cells. Shows promise in treating hematologic malignancies such as acute myeloid leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and myelodysplastic syndromes. Also under investigation for solid tumors including ovarian, bladder, and colorectal cancers. Often evaluated in combination with other therapeutic antibodies to enhance phagocytosis and anti-tumor immune responses.
