Used as a catalyst in oxidation reactions, particularly in the epoxidation of alkenes and hydroxylation of C–H bonds. Exhibits high selectivity and stability under oxidative conditions, making it suitable for fine chemical synthesis and pharmaceutical intermediates production. Also investigated for use in biomimetic studies due to structural similarity to heme enzymes, enabling modeling of oxygen activation processes. Applied in electrochemical systems for sensor development and in environmental chemistry for degradation of organic pollutants via peroxide activation.
