MLi-2 is a selective inhibitor of leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2), a protein associated with Parkinson’s disease. It is primarily used in neuroscience research to study the role of LRRK2 in cellular pathways, particularly those involving neurodegeneration. By inhibiting LRRK2 kinase activity, MLi-2 helps researchers investigate the effects of reduced LRRK2 function on autophagy, lysosomal activity, and mitochondrial health in neuronal cells.
