Used as a targeted therapy in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with ALK gene rearrangements. It inhibits anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) and ROS1 tyrosine kinases, blocking signaling pathways that drive tumor growth. Shows activity against brain metastases due to its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier. Employed in patients who are resistant to or intolerant of first-generation ALK inhibitors. Currently evaluated in clinical trials for efficacy and safety in advanced NSCLC.
