Used as a host material in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), particularly in blue phosphorescent and thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) devices. Its rigid spiro structure provides high thermal stability and prevents close packing, reducing exciton quenching. This enhances device efficiency and lifetime. Commonly employed in display and lighting technologies where stable and efficient blue emission is critical. Also explored in organic photovoltaics and perovskite solar cells as a hole-transporting material due to its suitable energy levels and film-forming properties.
