Used as an electron-transport and host material in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), particularly in blue-emitting devices. Its structure supports high thermal stability and good film-forming properties, making it suitable for use in vapor-deposited OLED layers. The boron-containing group allows for further functionalization through cross-coupling reactions, enabling the synthesis of more complex materials for optoelectronic applications. Also explored in phosphorescent OLEDs (PhOLEDs) as a matrix for emissive dopants due to its appropriate triplet energy level.
