description Product Description

Trans-siduron (also known as siduron) is a selective pre-emergence herbicide primarily used to control annual grassy weeds, such as crabgrass (Digitaria spp.), in turfgrass management. It is commonly applied to lawns, golf courses, athletic fields, and sod farms to prevent weed establishment without harming desirable turf grasses like Kentucky bluegrass, fescues, or bentgrasses. The herbicide works by inhibiting mitosis and cell division in the roots and shoots of germinating weed seeds, allowing it to target weeds at an early stage. Trans-siduron is particularly effective for use on newly seeded or sodded turf areas. It has relatively low persistence in soil (half-life around 15-30 days) and low toxicity to mammals, birds, and aquatic organisms, making it suitable for residential and recreational settings. While its primary use is in non-crop turf, it may also be used in limited ornamental and nursery applications. It is not typically employed in broad agricultural field crops.
