Used as a pre-emergence herbicide in rice cultivation, controlling annual grasses and broadleaf weeds. It is effective when applied to flooded rice fields before weed seeds germinate. Often combined with other herbicides to broaden the spectrum of weed control. Shows good selectivity in transplanted and direct-seeded rice under flooded conditions. Degraded primarily by microbial activity in soil, with moderate persistence depending on environmental conditions.
