Used as an electron-transport and host material in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), particularly in blue phosphorescent devices. Its rigid, twisted molecular structure provides good thermal stability and prevents excimer formation, enhancing device efficiency. Commonly employed in multilayer OLED architectures to improve charge balance and luminance. Also investigated in perovskite solar cells as an interfacial layer to enhance electron extraction and device stability.
