Used in cancer immunotherapy research to enhance anti-tumor immune responses. Blocks the activity of ENPP1, an enzyme that degrades cyclic dinucleotides involved in activating the STING pathway. By inhibiting ENPP1, this compound boosts intracellular signaling that leads to increased production of type I interferons and other immune-stimulating molecules. This promotes dendritic cell activation and T-cell infiltration into tumors, making it a potential candidate for combination therapies with checkpoint inhibitors. Also being studied in models of metastatic cancer to suppress tumor progression and improve response to immunotherapies.
