Used as a chiral ligand in asymmetric catalysis, particularly in transition metal-catalyzed reactions such as asymmetric hydrogenation and C–C bond formation. Its rigid dinaphthophosphepine backbone and stereogenic centers enable high enantioselectivity. Commonly employed in synthesis of chiral pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals where precise stereochemical control is required. Shows good performance with rhodium and ruthenium complexes, enhancing catalytic efficiency and enantiomeric excess in the final products.
