Used as a chiral catalyst in asymmetric synthesis, particularly in enantioselective carbon-carbon bond-forming reactions. Its rigid oxazole-quinoline framework provides excellent stereocontrol, making it valuable in the preparation of optically active pharmaceutical intermediates. Commonly applied in cyclization and addition reactions where high enantiomeric excess is required. Also employed in coordination chemistry as a ligand for transition metals such as palladium and copper to enhance catalytic activity and selectivity.
