Used as a precursor in the synthesis of selenium-containing compounds for semiconductor materials and electronic devices. Employed in thin-film deposition processes such as chemical bath deposition (CBD) to fabricate solar cells, particularly in the development of copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) photovoltaic technologies. Applied in research and development of nanomaterials, including quantum dots, due to its ability to provide controlled selenium release. Also utilized in some catalytic processes and in the preparation of specialized glass with improved optical properties.
